Membership Application Procedure
The
Membership Application Form,
also available in the foyer area near
the offices, should be filled out completely,
signed, and sent in an envelope to the SCW office with a check for $145 Membership Dues, and the first payment of the
monthly ice fees the candidate has chosen. Visa and MasterCard can be used for
these fees either in person or on-line. The envelope can also be put through the slot in the office door,
which goes to a locked box. When the completed application and appropriate
fees are received, skating privileges may begin for the candidate (and family
if a multiple membership is desired).
Next, the Board of Directors posts
candidates' names on the Membership
bulletin board in
the Snack Bar for four weeks prior to
consideration for election.
If transferring from another rink, a candidate must
get a club officer or test chairperson
to send a letter indicating that he is
a member in good standing at that club.
Orientation meetings for new members are arranged by the Membership
Chairperson in order to become familiar
with the policies and procedures of the club.
These meetings are usually
scheduled for Sundays. Candidates find these
meetings very valuable in helping
them understand the ice schedule, guest
rules, and the meaning of the
different skating designations and terms.
Please contact the SCW office if you have not been contacted by the
Membership Chairperson, if you need
more specific information or need to have
questions answered about the above-mentioned
procedures. You may also e-mail the Membership Chairperson, Carole Smith, by clicking below.
