About
Irina Romanova:
Irina
Romanova has been skating since age 3. She and partner, Igor Yaroshenko have
been skating together for more than 20 years. They were married in
1991 and moved to the United States in 1994. Irina has a
Teacher of Arts degree from the Pedagogical Institute in
Odessa, Ukraine.
Career: Irina and Igor are five-time national
champions of Ukraine. They are two-time Olympic competitors.
Other highlights include a gold medal at the 1994 Goodwill
Games and 3rd place finish at the 1996 European Championships.
After finishing their amateur career at the 1998 World Championships,
Irina and Igor skated in the Mannheim Steamroller TV Special
and tour as well as other professional competitions and
shows.
Coaching: Irina and Igor live
in Wilmington, Delaware, and coach at The Skating Club of
Wilmington. In addition to on-ice teaching, Irina also choreographs
programs for singles skaters.
